British Columbia invites 422 in latest PNP draws B.C. has now issued over 9,000 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination since the start of the year. British Columbia invited 422 immigration candidates in two  Provincial Nominee Program  (PNP) draws held on September 28, 2021. Since February, British Columbia has been conducting two separate rounds of invitations twice a month as part of its PNP program. Due to a high number of people registered in the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) in certain occupations, B.C. has been holding an additional draw to balance the needs in all sectors of the provincial labour market. Candidates from the  Skills Immigration  (SI) and  Express Entry BC  (EEBC) streams of the  British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program  (BC PNP) received invitations in the general draw. Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) issued over 3,400 invitations to apply for provincial nomination during the month of August. Nearly every Canadian province and territory, except Quebec and Nunavut, operates its own Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP). Having their own immigration programs allows provincial governments to select the most suitable people to meet their local labour market needs and to manage the regional settlement of the immigrant population within their jurisdiction. Each province adopts its own criteria for selecting foreign workers eligible for Canadian permanent residence under its respective PNP.
